Do your children always unable to concatenate messages into comprehensible content even though they demonstrate a good understanding of pictures? The speech therapist team of Heep Hong Society designed 40 static stickers and word cards based on the theme of children's familiar playground scenes. The gameplay helps them to recognise and read the text. Children can gradually increase their vocabulary through games, learn to organise graphic information, and express key messages in an orderly manner, thereby strengthening sentence comprehension and the ability to describe sentences, and prepare for elementary writing courses. Grasping the characteristics of objects, the basic structure of sentences, and the logical relationship of the plot is crucial for children who are about to enter the school-based reading and writing stage. Children aged 3 to 6 are in the golden period of learning. Appropriate language comprehension training methods not only allow children to experience the joy of reading early, but also promote the development of their communication skills. The speech therapist team of Heep Hong Society takes language comprehension as the topic, provides training strategies in the three aspects, namely "memory", "sentence comprehension" and "story comprehension", and designs fun activities of different levels to let parents consolidate their children's language comprehension skills, but also spend quality time together. Children with autism spectrum disorder often encounter delayed language development. Even when verbal ability is developed, they have difficulties in communication. Written by our speech therapist team, this book was well-received by parents when it was first published in 2009. In 2017, the team revised the guide to help parents grasp the language features and communication styles of autistic children as well as their own communication styles in order to strengthen their two-way communication using the ‘Step by Step’ approach.
