Heep Hong Society

The 25th Great Chefs of Hong Kong Bringing the Best Culinary Experience for A Good Cause for 25 Years

The 25th Great Chefs of Hong Kong, Heep Hong Society’s annual culinary event that raises funds for children with special needs, was successfully held on 27 April at Grand Hyatt Hong Kong. More than 1,000 guests enjoyed signature drinks, delicacies and quality dishes from almost 50 of the city’s leading hotels, restaurants, and beverage suppliers whilst supporting the charity initiative.

Patron Mrs. Lucina Ho’s representative, Mr. Richard Greaves, General Manager and Area Vice President of Grand Hyatt Hong Kong, Mrs. Emily Tang, Group Vice Chairman and Executive Director of Prince Jewellery & Watch Company, Mr. Pascal Raffy, Owner of Bovet 1822 Group, Dr. Henry Au-yeung, Chairman of the Executive Committee of Heep Hong Society, Ms. Teresa Au, Chairman of the Sub-Committee on Fund Raising of Heep Hong Society, Ms. Nancy Tsang, Director of Heep Hong Society, Ms. Kim Murphy, Chairman of the Great Chefs Working Group and Mrs. Grace Lam, Vice-Chairman of the Great Chefs Working Group officiated the opening ceremony.

On addressing the fantastic event, Ms Murphy said, 'This year is exceptional for us as Great Chefs hits its 25 year-mark! I remember taking part in Great Chefs for the first time as an F&B participant more than 10 years ago, the event was in a smaller scale, and has grown to a wonderful charity culinary event of the year. The Great Chefs is not only a night of good food, but it is also a night to give back to society. The funds raised tonight will go to Heep Hong Society’s Parents Resource Centres to support special needs children and their families. Thank you to all our generous donors, food and beverage suppliers, chefs and sponsors for making this event such a success.'

This year, the Great Chefs of Hong Kong celebrated its Jubilee by bringing together worldwide cuisine from 48 of Hong Kong’s favourite dining destinations. All participants were hosted in The Grand Ballroom, Grand Rooms and Tiffin Lounge at Grand Hyatt Hong Kong. This year saw 11 new participants including EasyChef Cooking Studio, Emporio Antico, Rech by Alain Ducasse, Kayobi Kitchen, Lafayette, Regal Hotels, SOLO, Tainan Mr Bean, TOWN by Bryan Nagao, Wynn Palace, and The Fine Wine Experience.

Celebrating its 25th year, the Great Chefs remains prominent at local food lovers’ culinary calendars. In addition to savouring the signature dishes wonderfully prepared by Hong Kong’s great chefs, guests supported the charity sale of multi-purpose greeting cards, which were painted by Heep Hong Society’s children and youth, and enjoyed a lucky draw and tombola. The funds raised will go directly to Parents Resource Centres which provide a timely and valuable service to over 4000 families every year.
