Fabulous Culinary Evening at the 24th Great Chefs of Hong Kong Nearly 50 Hong Kong’s leading hotels and restaurants serve gourmet delights in support of children with special needs

The 24th Great Chefs of Hong Kong — Heep Hong Society’s annual charity culinary event — held on 12 May 2016 (Thu) at Grand Hyatt Hong Kong was a huge success. Over 1,200 guests enjoyed the finest and signature delicacies served by nearly 50 leading hotels, restaurants, and beverage suppliers. 

Mrs. Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor, GBS, JP, Chief Secretary for Administration, attended the event as the honourable guest and officiated the opening ceremony with Mrs. Emily Tang, Group Vice Chairman and Executive Director of Prince Jewellery & Watch Company, Mr. Philip Yu, General Manager, Grand Hyatt Hong Kong, Dr. Henry Au-yeung, Chairman of the Executive Committee of Heep Hong Society, Ms. Nancy Tsang, Director of Heep Hong Society, Ms. Kim Murphy, Chairman of the Great Chefs Working Group and Mrs. Grace Lam, Vice-Chairman of the Great Chefs Working Group.Kim said, ‘This year the number of F&B participants reaches new heights. The Great Chefs is not onlya night of good food, but it is also a night to give back to society. The funds raised tonight will go to Heep Hong Society’s Parents Resource Centres to support special needs children and their families. Thank you all our generous donors, food and beverage suppliers, chefs and sponsors for making this event successful.’
This year, the Great Chefs of Hong Kong celebrated the theme ‘Global Flavors’ and brought together worldwide cuisine from 49 Hong Kong’s favourite dining destinations together in one venue — The Grand Ballroom, Grand Rooms and Tiffin Lounge at Grand Hyatt Hong Kong. The 11new participants included BRICK LANE, Coyote Bar & Grill , Jinjuu, Master Chef Kitchen, One Minden Tapas Kitchen, Porterhouse by Laris, The Beach House, The Coffee Academics, Essential Fine Wines Ltd. , GINSBERG+CHAN Wine Merchants Asia, and VEA Restaurant and Lounge.
Celebrating its 24th year, the Great Chefs remained a highlight on the schedule of local food lovers. In addition to savouring the signature dishes wonderfully prepared by the great chefs, guests supported the charity sale of ‘STAR Pâtisserie assorted cookies baked by the youth and parents of Heep Hong and leather accessories hand-made by the parents of Heep Hong, and enjoyed the exciting super lucky draw and tombola. The funds raised will go to providing training and support services to children and youth with special needs and their families.
