Introduction
Background
With the traditional Chinese mindset, fathers are always shy of showing their feelings and love towards their children, especially if their children are those with special needs. Heep Hong, therefore, formed the Father's Club in January 2001 aiming at providing an opportunity for fathers who have special needs children to share experiences and difficulties and to reduce their pressure.
Mission
- To strengthen exchanges and mutual support among fathers with special needs children and to develop a network of support for them.
- To provide training for fathers on the skills of caring for special needs children through different programmes so as to strengthen their role in families.
- To develop the potential of fathers by asking them to help in centres' programmes.
Membership
