Many findings show that if potential dyslexic children are given access to systematic and clearly defined language education on a timely basis, their language acquisition abilities will be enhanced and their homework-related difficulties will be alleviated. In the light of this, The Language Learning Package for Pre-primary Children was produced by Heep Hong Society’s Research Team for Pre-primary Language Learning Package for kindergartens and nursery schools in Hong Kong in an effort to uplift children’s language abilities and help potential dyslexic children lay a solid foundation for advanced language learning.

 

The Package is composed of two learning activities handbooks (each is accompanied by a resource CD-ROM) tailor-made for kindergarten 2 (K2) and kindergarten 3 (K3) students respectively, and a teacher's manual. The learning activities handbooks are divided into several learning categories, including listening, speaking, reading and writing, each of which comprises of 72 activities centered on 9 main topics. The language learning activities have been tried and tested in kindergartens. The results revealed that children had made progress in listening, speaking, reading and writing, and those of weaker language abilities had exhibited a substantial improvement.
