School-based Holistic Support Programme for Children with ADHD (Teacher's Manual & Parent's Guidebook)

The behavioral and learning problems exhibited by children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) are traced to the impairment of their executive function. With an aim to improve the executive function, a two-year pilot school-based holistic support programme for children with ADHD was implemented by Heep Hong Sociey at four schools. Under the programme, a three-tier support model, comprised of classroom management, executive function training, behavioral consultancy and parenting skills, was executed to enhance the learning and behavioral performance of children remarkably.

To share its experience and knowledge with the wider community, Heep Hong Society has published a teaching package to throw light on the needs of children with ADHD. The package is comprised of a parent’s guidebook, which provides practical tips on parent-children communication and home-based training activities, and a teacher’s manual, which expounds on the three-tier school-based support model and is accompanied by a teaching CD-ROM.
